The following letter from one of our clients about business advisor Edward Valaitis is an example of why our team works so hard every day to fulfill the dreams and goals of our clients. We are passionate about being useful and contributing to the happiness of our clients lives.
To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Edison Avenue.
After celebrating our Information Technology Service Company’s 15 year anniversary, my husband & I took a hard look at where we wanted to be for the next 15 years. My husband is approaching retirement age and, while the company was his ‘baby,’ we both knew that in order for the company to continue to prosper it was time to start looking for someone else to carry on his legacy. As none of our children expressed any interest, we made the very difficult decision to sell. At first we hesitated in selecting Edison Avenue as our business advisor as we had a disappointing and unsatisfactory experience several years earlier with another company that required a large monetary “deposit” but never brought any offers to the table.
We met with Edward Valaitis in July and after hearing his approach on both valuing and marketing the business, decided to list the business and accompanying real estate with him. In less than a month, there were five inquiries. I don’t know how many inquiries there were that Ed disqualified but, over the course of the next few months, we had interviews with several potential buyers. As our business intermediary, Edward was there for us every step of the way coaching us through and helping us understand the process. He continually encouraged us to keep our efforts focused on running the business while he took care of the sales process. In less than a year, Ed had negotiated the sale of the business and 4000 sq. ft. commercial office building as a package deal at maximum market value – not an easy task!
Edward is a true professional business advisor, exhibiting diplomacy when required, and being straightforward and direct when necessary. I am sure I drove him crazy sometimes with my detail-oriented questions but he never dismissed them as trivial and spent many hours on the phone with both of us explaining things so we came to a comfortable understanding. When we received the initial offer, he patiently went through it paragraph by paragraph with us. There were several obstacles in the process that could not have been overcome without Edward’s expertise as a business intermediary. He was instrumental in helping us draft a counter-proposal, negotiate acceptable terms, and get us to a successful closing. Edward was not only our business intermediary, he became our confidante and friend.
If the opportunity arises for me to buy or sell another business, I will most certainly engage Mr. Valaitis and I highly recommend him to anyone contemplating selling a business.
Yours truly,
Deborah J.
